Abstract

|
The antibacterial effects of Trimeprazine and Flupenthixol with some antibiotics : Ampicillin, Methacycline, Sulfamethoxazole, Trimethoprim, Erythromycin Ciprofloxacin, Norfloxacin on 14 dif-ferent strains were tested in-vitro. Synergistic, Additive, Antagonistic ineraction were showed by the checker board method. Trimeprazine have anti-bacterial effects in vitro, being more effective against the gram-positive than gram-negative microorganisms. The antibacterial effect of Flupenthixol is in-vitro more effective against the gram-positive than gram-negative microorganisms. In particular, the combinations containing Flupenthixol+Ampicillin, Flupenthixol+sulfamethoxazole, Flupenthixol+Trimethoprim, Flupenthixol+Erythromycin were synergistic, although occasionally additive or antagonistic interaction occurred. But the combina-tion : Trimeprazine+sulfamethoxazole, Trimeprazine+Trimethoprim, Trimeprazine+Erythromycin tions : Trimeprazine+sulfamethoxazole, Trimeprazine+Trimethoprim, Trimeprazine+Erythromycin were synergistic.
